Fixed Bed Adsorption of CO₂, CH₄, and N₂ and Their Mixtures in Potassium-Exchanged Binder-Free Beads of Y Zeolite

The adsorption of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrogen (N2) has been studied on potassium-exchanged (95%) binder-free beads Y zeolite through single, binary, ternary fixed bed breakthrough experiments, covering the temperature range between 313 423 K a pressure up to 350 kPa. At kPa, single-component data obtained showed that amounts adsorbed CO2, CH4, N2 are around 6.42, 1.45, 0.671 mol kg–1, respectively. binary experiments CO2/N2 carried out under typical post-combustion conditions show selectivity CO2 over 104. resulted in selectivities CH4 19 45, equilibrium have modeled by dual-site Langmuir model, were numerically simulated with suitable dynamic model. model predicts good accuracy systematic behavior all experiments. results shown present work prove enhance amount at low partial other alkali metal-exchanged faujasites efficiently separate it from (CO2/N2) (CO2/CH4/N2) mixtures adsorption.
